Movie maker - wikibritMicrosoft Movie Maker (version 2) is a free program available on just about all BRIT computers, and probably your computer at home (you need to have Windows XP and Service Pack 2 installed). This software will allow you to make short instructional 'movies' that consist of audio, graphics and titles. These will play in Microsoft 'Media Player', which is also a free program on most computers running XP. (Later versions may be required in some cases, this can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com)

You can use the movie as a training resource either on its own, insert it into a PowerPoint presentation, place it online (file size may be an issue) or on a network drive, or burn it onto a CD.
The hardest part is planning. Actually putting the movie together is not that difficult. Workshops that will show you how to put it all together are being run in various locations, check the Staff Development calendar for times and locations. If you are attending a workshop, it is better if you can bring an idea of what your movie is about, and the graphics (and audio if possible) you want to include.
